Advances in Therapy:

In the Internationally respected medical journal Advances in Therapy, Dr. Lewenberg published the results of his two-year clinical study on the results observed in over 2,200 hair patients.

This research shows that nearly 90% of patients who used Dr. Lewenberg's Formula as prescribed started to regrow their lost hair in just three short months. Furthermore, 91% of patients who continued the treatment for 18 to 24 months had either "grown beautiful, normal hair" or showed "marked hair regrowth".

Nature and Nature and Biotechnology:

In the internationally respected journal Nature, a group of scientists released their findings showing a class of genes, called "pangenes" that control the timing and target of differentiation. These genes control what the daughter cells of a stem cell become.

Another study, released in Nature and Biotechnology shows that stem cells found in the hair follicles of mice can be manipulated through genetic therapy to grow new stem cells and even skin. The authors of the study, "Capturing and profiling adult hair follicle stem cells", conclude that "these findings provide potential targets for the treatment of hair loss and other disorders of the skin and hair."

These studies indicate that genetic manipulation of adult stem cells in the hair follicle is possible in humans. While these studies are very encouraging, they will not lead to new hair regrowth products in the near future. However, these studies explain why Dr. Lewenberg's hair regrowth treatment is so successful.

In both studies, Tretinoin was used to activate and sustain stem cells. For years, it was believed that the only effect of Tretinoin on Minoxidil was to increase absorption by 200%. Based on his clinical practice with Tretinoin, Dr. Lewenberg theorized that there were additional benefits to it, as it increases epithelial cell growth in the scalp, rejuvenating the skin and possibly the hair follicle. Later, it was discovered that Tretinoin decreases levels of DHT. This was important as it shows how a Dr. Lewenberg's Formulas reduce hair loss.

It is the use of Tretinoin to stimulate stem cells, which in turn repair damaged hair follicles, which explains why Dr. Lewenberg's Formulas regrow hair. In Androgenetic Alopecia (male and female pattern baldness) the affected hair follicles go through the process of miniaturization, wherein the hair follicles progressively wither and die. Unlike hair treatments that only use Minoxidil or anti-DHT components, Dr. Lewenberg's Formulas reverse this process as the activated stem cells repair the hair follicles. The established effects of Tretinoin, the absorption of Minoxidil and reduced production and effect of DHT on the hair follicle, are secondary to its miraculous reparative ability.
